What kind of smile at an audition?

QUESTION:

In your acting auditions article, you say to smile at the casting directors or whoever is in the room. What kind of smile is best? For example, a teeth one? Thanks.

ANSWER:

A natural smile! I know it’s not always easy when you walk in an audition room to be natural, but just imagine for a second the casting director is a good friend and you’ll probably end up with a full smile with teeth showing, although teeth or no teeth doesn’t matter as long as you feel relaxed and genuine.

If you find it hard to be natural, remember the casting director is on your side, they want you to be good, so there’s no reason to feel nervous when you meet them.
