How long does it take to get a call back from an open casting call?
ANSWER:
Unfortunately, there are no rules. You could not get a call for weeks or you could get a call back right away before you even leave the audition. In general, you’ll know if you got a callback after a few days up to a week, but that’s just an average. Open calls often involve a lot of actors, so it could take a little while to hear back from the casting directors.
I know it’s nerve-racking but try to forget about the audition once you’re done and move on. Sometimes, you won’t get a callback for any number of reasons, but if the casting directors liked your audition, you’ll get a call out of the blue one day for another project (casting directors have great memories).
If you’re the kind of person who really needs to know when the callbacks are, ask the monitor outside the audition room next time and check any audition information posted. It often includes the dates for callbacks.
