What is the difference between traditional acting and method acting?
There seems to be a lot of confusion about this. "Method Acting" is just one of the many acting techniques you can study to become an actor.
It was developed by Lee Strasberg and was the dominant acting method in America for a long time, but it doesn't work for all actors. Method Acting is based on "sense memory" - the actor learns how to use his senses to recall experiences and memories that help him create the role he or she is working on.
You can check out our method acting page for more information on Method Acting and compare it with other acting techniques listed here.
